WE HAVE ENTERED THE BEST SEASON….LETS TALK ABOUT IT!
So, Fall is objectively the best season of the year, and if you don’t agree, just know you’re wrong! Those of us in The Maze wanted to catch up after a busy summer - Dads still recovering from Dragon Con and I’m busier than ever with Work and projects but were excited to get into the Fall and Winter season and keep the content coming!
What sparked me to get this post up is I stumbled on something on Youtube the other day, Halloween 4’s intro (which i already knew was excellent) but with no opening credits over the backgrounds. This intro is such a gem in the series’ known for its intros. Return of Michael Myers is imo one of the stand outs in the Halloween sequels and this intro is just a nostalgia trip that just feel like it takes you back to Fall, the chill of the wind, crackle of leaves and the laughs of Spirit Halloween animatronics that feels like home to a lot of us and I LOVE it. I’m going to be posting some lesser known Halloween movies on the site and over at our discord throughout the season, but wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Happy Fall / Halloween / Winter season, my quality of life sky rockets from now until New Years and I’m so so happy! Some awesome movies I feel like fall off the radar (some are just not as known, some are cheesy):
Halloween 3 and 4
3 was a movie that a lot of ppl hated at the time, but has since become a cult classic. This movie was meant to kick off a yearly / regularly released Halloween anthology that would be different stories about Halloween after Michael was killed in H2. This of course pissed off a lot of people, BUT i think if you go back and watch this movie its actually a super unique and fun movie. H4 is just a return to normal for the Halloween series, and set the tone for the rest of Michaels story, up until the current reboot cycle….guess well see where it goes from here!
Sleep Hollow
Tim Burtons is a Fall vibe overload with New England classic setting and a good retelling of Washington Irving’s classic
Pumpkinhead
One of my earliest memories of a monster as a kid, super fun and silly movie
Lords of Salem
Rob Zombies movies are a hit and miss depending on who you ask, this movie has an awesome Fall vibe.
Trick or Treat
Well known in the horror / Halloween space but blows my mind how many ppl haven’t seen this…)
Hellfest
This movie really surprised me how much i liked it, love the ending
Random note, I ALWAYS get candy for my guys at work, and it brings up some HEATED debate on what Halloween Candy is best…..so interested to hear some opinions from you guys in the comments here, or on our Discord. Me personally, I go for:
