DIABLO 4 SEASON 8, LAST MINUTE SURPRISE! - FLURRY ROGUE IS SLAMMING!
So…we were supposed to be done with D4 until the Season 9 launch, BUT your boy just can't leave well enough alone.
The Druid Werebear boulder build is complete, but I still had my other S8 Rogue I opened the season with. Dancing knives was super fun, but as usual, seeing other people run it everywhere I went, I knew I wanted to run something different. I jumped over to Penetrating Shot, but the build I put together wasn't going anywhere. It felt OK but didn't really push well into even Helltides @ T3. The energy consumption issues almost demanded the build to be built around resource gen/lucky hit to gain primary resource, which means you couldn't really build into damage as much as normal. Long story short, the build was clunky, so I decided to tinker with it more while playing with my friends helping them finish the season. Flurry felt really good, and was definitely better than I remember against single target. I think the newer aspects help a lot, instead of just leveraging encircling blades (Breakneck Bandit / Mired Sharpshooters help this build a lot). So far this season I've gotten a bunch of mythics (Heir of Perdition, Ring of Starless Skies, Ahavarion, Shroud of False Death, Doom Bringer, Tyreal’s Might) and figured I would dump all relevant ones into this Rogue and push it as hard as I could, welp, its insane.
Its now normal for me to hit 500-700MIL damage per hit in a flurry cast, with insane cast speed and shadow clone active and rocking Grasp of shadow this build CRUISES through Pit Tier 70, melts bosses, including T3 Lair bosses. Most ppl in the scene agree that ~Tier 70 Pits and T3 Lair Bosses are basically the highest yield content to do, and this build trivializes it. To see how strong flurry is this way is super fun, I've seen ZERO Flurry Rogues since entering T2, so it feels good to push a build that's not normally used in late game. There are a lot of things about D4 I wish they would change, and even more things that are in the game that can be improved, but I do love the way you can target farm gear (still not as good as target farming in The Division 2 <3) and build up off meta builds and push them like this. This build is VERY good, I don't have masterworking done, my affixes aren’t perfect/enchanted, my GAs aren't on the best affixes they could be of, and my paragon board is in no way shape or form min maxed, nor are my glyphs. I'll upload some footage soon in the training room in Kyovashad to see some rotation damage numbers, but hopefully if anyone reads this plays D4, remember sometimes the most fun you can have is putting together something with 0 expectations and going ham!
